Thanks for the manual. We will certainly read it from beginning to end. We just got a Wheaten, 3 months old, and find Paddy MacFarland, the quiet man (Mac), is a perfect addition to our family. We are glad to have found your web page. We are also looking for Wheaten related videos. If you know of a source, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again.

I love basset hounds cause they're so cute. I love their ears. It is so cute when they trip over their ears. I have a basset hound, her name is Lucy. She loves to run around the countyside! She also loves to tag along with me whlie doing chores but she still loves to lie in the warm sun!

What a wonderful site and sight to see such wonderful dogs especially set against a green background. My 'Maggie Muggens' is 9 mos. old and is my first wheaten. I am thoroughly enjoying her and her antics. We live in a, ON and I find the Wheaten L very informative as a new owner.
Look forward to seeing more pictures on your web site. Bye, Carol D.

Loved your site. That picture on your home page definitely belongs in the Wheaten calendar!! Max & MacDuff are so handsome, but being a Wheaten lover and owner myself, I fell in love with Max. My Seamus is very cute too but unfortunately does not like other dogs, he is possessive I guess! Besides that weakness he is perfect and we love him very much. We just adopted him at the age of 2-1/2 when we lost our 10-year old and much loved Wheaten Joey. Seamus came from an abusive home and he is just starting to like little boys again, maybe there is still hope for him liking other puppies. Anyhow, loved your site, and saved it as one of my favorites to show your pictures to some friends. Thanks for sharing!!!!

I really enjoyed your site. I have been researching Wheatens for about 2 years, off & on. The non-shedding quality, size & temperment appeals to me. I would love a Wheaten for a pet - no desire to breed or show - & would be interested in info you might have about "pet quality" purchases, or rescued Wheatens in Alberta. If the right dog came along tomorrow at the right price, I'd jump through hoops for it!

Dear Max, My name is Bailey and my mom,Dawn, and I need your help. I cannot stop barking and pacing when in a back yard, apartment, or car. We are about to be evicted over it. My bark collar sometimes works but it really upsets me to have to wear it. Besides, being shocked constantly can't be good for my health, right? What should I do? Bailey p.s. great web page you have!

I have been taking my darlin' to a groomer since she was 5 months old and I love them. I recently saw a wheaten in a car and loved how the face looked and left a message on the car windshield asking who the groomer was. I did get a call back and took my Meaghan to this groomer - she said that Meaghan has a lot of growing out to do around the face ie eyes. She is more expensive but I found that she really didn't clean her ears and am a bit upset over that, true it is only a minor thing, but can get worse So I have decided to take her back to the other groomer and talk to her about the head. Do you have something that I could take to her and show her what needs to be grown out? Your help is most appreciative. Mindy and Meaghan

You are an absolutely beautiful dog and I'm sure that your pets are very proud of you and you're accomplishments. There's nothing like a wheaten. I hope to have one again someday. Take care and say hi to your pets!

I really enjoyed all the information on the Wheaten Terrier. One day we were BBQing and along came a Wheaten and we fell in love. We were proud parents of an American Cocker Spaniel "Casey" 14 yeras old that was loved and cared for til the end. We owned a Airedale Terrier "Rufus" that was just about 6 years old. We battled epilepsy. Rufus passed on in March and Casey followed in May. All and all it's been very difficult. The boys are on the bookcase and now it's time for a new addition to our family. We live in southern Ontario, Canada and were wondering where there is a breeder close. If you could help with any more information on this adorable breed, please send forth. Thank-you from Tim and Louise

Neat photos Alan. We have been "in Wheatens" since 1983 so we discovered Wheatens pretty early in the game. Currently have 3, a 14 yr. old female, an 11 yr old male and their "puppy" an almost 8 yr old male recently re-adopted due to the deaths of both his human mom and dad. He has adapted to our 2 dogs and a new household with little fuss, so anyone out there wondering if an older dog can adapt to a new home the answer is a resounding YES ! Keep up the great workblue/td>

Greetings from Ted (5 1/2 years old - and looking so much like your Max, and Ivy, 9 1/2 years old) both Wheaten rescues. I got Ted oneIr ago, and Ivy last November. They are my greatest joy - my pair of Fuzzy Slippers!

What a great site, I am about to buy my first Wheaten puppy and the information on the first year was very useful, especially the grooming element. The pictures were also very cute. Best Wishes.

I really enjoyed your site. Great information, great pictures. Your Wheaten is beautiful. We are in the process of purchasing a puppy. Our beloved Wheaten, Truffles, died on Labor Day. She was 16 and our house has been so lonely without her. Sites like yours have allowed me to visit with Wheatens and see that there are brothers and sisters out there which might be able to fill the emptiness we now experience. Max looks very much like our Truffles and I can see he is quite a character. You are very lucky and I wish you many, many years of happiness with Max. Thanks for your great site and thanks for putting a little warmth in my heart as I made my way through your very thoughtful web site.

Thank-you Alan for the vast abundance of information that you provided to me, in response to my question, re: costs of SCWT'S. I only wish that I had not been so vulnerable when I went in to the pet store. I am located in Seminole, Florida. Which is on the Southwest Coast of Florida, on the"Gulfcoast" as it is referred to. I moved here from Buffalo, New York in May of 1999. My children and Grandchildren are all up North.I was filling a void in my life when I purchased Reilly. Thank-you for all of the reference material. You have done a wonderful job in educating people from your Web Site. In the State of Florida the seller or breeder of a dog must provide the purchaser with a Health Certificate, this was done,as well as, the Breeder information, which consisted of A Certificate of Pedigree. Reilly's litter was registered under AKC #RM26696/01, the Breeder is lsted as Opal Featherston. He was whelped on 09/25/99. I have on this Certificate of Pedigree, a photo of the supposed Sire and Dam, along with their AKC #'s; the list of heritage or family line(I do not know the proper name to refer to these other Dams & Sires that are listed). When I read the article on Protein-Losing Diseases, emesis was about to hit the wall.I only hope and pray that Reilly does not fall victim to these disease processes.I printed the article for the Vet, he has a visit scheduled for next week, so I will certainly request the recommended Base Line Blood work & Urinalysis be done. I can not thank you enough for all of the information that you have provided me with.

A wonderful site! Especially loved the pictures and profiles of Max and MacDuff. Patsy was adopted just shy of 3yo and her favorite neighbor dog is a Basset. A great combination! Interesting that I came up a Basset in the "what type of dog are you" test. Hmmmmmm.

My dad showed me the pictures of my buddies and I recognized them on the computer. We sure are cute and funny dogs! I love to run in the snow in the winter and go cross country skiing with my family. I also love to run around the living room with my nose on the rug and bark and growl at the same time in fun. Bye from Inish.

I commend you on creating a great informative site! I am sooo excited, as I am going to be a first time Wheatie owner in just 3 more weeks. She is going to be a handful because she is full of spunk, so I am enlisting her into puppy school. Do you know of any good puppy schools or clicker trainers in Calgary?

Loved looking through Max's pictures. We lost our 10 1/2 yr old wheaten in Nov. and miss her terribly. We've been following up the rescue sites, looking for a young adult who needs a home. Thought about trying a different breed after 2 wheatens, but we keep coming back to wheatens and their wonderful goofy personalities. Give Max a scratch on the chest. He's beautiful.
